School Profile:
Amazing Grace is an educational ministry of Amazing Grace Lutheran Church, a Christian congregation in membership with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and has been educating children for 49 years. The school was founded in 1963. It was restructured in 1999 as an academically accelerated school with an emphasis in Fine Arts. In 2008, we began an intentional integration of 21st Century technology. Students from 25 ethnic groups and 12 Christian and other faith traditions are represented in our Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade classrooms. Due to our rigorous course of studies with an emphasis on Technology Integration and Fine Arts we attract a highly motivated and talented group of students who flourish in the school's challenging environment.
Biblical Teaching:
Answers the Question: "Who is Jesus?"
For more than 2,000 years people have asked the question, "Who is Jesus?". We were not present when Jesus lived on this earth, but in the Bible we have the record of His birth, life, death on the cross, and resurrection. Study of the Bible, God's Word, will enable all Amazing Grace students to seek out the answer to this age-old question.
As one of thousands of American and international schools affiliated with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, (the second largest private school system in America) Amazing Grace Christian School is committed to teaching the Good News of Jesus Christ. With the universal Christian Church, we teach and respond to the love of the Triune God: the Father, Creator of all that exists; Jesus Christ, the Son, who became human to suffer and die for the sins of all human beings and to rise to life again in the ultimate victory over death and Satan; and the Holy Spirit, who creates faith through God's Word and Sacraments. The three persons of the Trinity are coequal and coeternal, one God.
Amazing Grace teaches the Bible-based teachings that inspired the reformation of the Christian Church in the 16th century. The teaching of Martin Luther and the reformers can be summarized in three short phrases: Grace alone, Faith alone, Scripture alone.
Grace alone
God loves the people of the world, even though they are sinful, rebel against Him and do not deserve His love. He sent Jesus, His Son, to love the unlovable and save the ungodly.
Faith alone
By His suffering and death as the substitute for all people of all time, Jesus purchased and won forgiveness and eternal life for them. Those who hear this Good News and believe it have the eternal life that it offers. God creates faith in Christ and gives people forgiveness through Him.
Scripture alone
The Bible is God's inerrant and infallible Word, in which He reveals His Law and His Gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ. It is the sole rule and norm for Christian doctrine.

Additional Information:
Sole Ownership:
Amazing Grace Lutheran Church is the sole owner of Amazing Grace Christian School and is responsible for ensuring the long-term welfare of the institution while advancing the school’s mission. In general, the Church Council is responsible for making certain that the school’s mission is accomplished; that program goals are consistent with school resources; that generational equity is preserved – in other words that future students are not penalized by current deficit spending or vice versa; that sources and uses of funds are appropriately matched; and that governance structures are in place to support the organization as it matures. In short, the role of the Council is not to manage the operation but to ensure that the school’s mission is appropriate to its Christian orientation and that it accomplishes that mission efficiently (to protect and improve the school).
Operational Responsibility:
At AGCS the Administrator and Principal are responsible for the day-to-day operational affairs of the school: curriculum, staffing, discipline, outreach, diversity, welfare, development, etc. The Administrator is also responsible for keeping the Council informed on critical issues as well as what school clients and consultant experts think about these issues. Together, the Administrator, Principal and Council reach a consensus on the school’s priorities and strategic direction and then it is the Administrator and Principal’s responsibility to recommend the appropriate course of action and, with the Council’s support, work to make sure that implementation is successful.
